The Minneapolis, MN area saw severe storms on Thursday June 20, 2013 and Friday June 21, 2013. This led to widespread power outages, with a total of more than half a million subscribers affected.
The power outage map from Xcel Energy would be the normal reference point for storm analysis, but they have had so much traffic to the page that the power outage map is behaving intermittently. Xcel’s emergency notices are tracking restoration information. The Sunday, June 23, 2013 report:
As of 10 a.m. today, we have had a total of 554,000 customers affected, 455,000 restored with a remaining 99,000 customers out.
