April 1, 2014 Chile Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami

An 8.2 magnitude earthquake hit 95km NW of Iquique, Chile, generating a tsunami with waves estimated at up to 6.9 feet as measured on coastal towns in Chile including Iquique, Pisagua, and Patache. Warnings are in place as of 10:45 pm. for coastal Chile and Peru, but all other country warnings have been cancelled. At least 6 deaths have been reported due to the quake.
